Are you making money online using affiliate products? Many marketers excel in this area and make very attractive six figure incomes. But many many more make little or no money using affiliate products. Why is there such a big difference?
Those who excel realize that affiliate marketing is a numbers game. They understand that only 1 out of 100 targeted visitors will make a purchase. They develop programs to send as many targeted prospects as possible to their merchants’ sites. They treat it like a business. Why, because it is a business.
One of the keys to making money online using affiliate products is the ability to track your prospects. Successful marketers do research and know the conversion rates of the products that they promote. With the conversion rate information, they can make a more informed business decision regarding products to promote.
Ideally, you want to promote the best products with the highest conversion rate. If product number 1 has a two percent conversion rate and product number 2 has a point 58 percent conversion rate it is easy to decide which product you are going to promote. (Assuming, of course, that all other factors are equal.)
It is only through the careful tracking of results that you can determine real conversion rates. You should also realize that the average product on the Internet converts at about 1 percent. That is, for every 100 targeted visitors that view a sales page, only 1 of them will make a purchase. That is why it is so important to send targeted traffic.
If you want to be successful selling affiliate products, track your results. Be persistent in sending targeted traffic to your merchant’s sales page. All successful businesses keep track of prospects as well as sales. Do the same thing. Work to generate traffic, track your results and treat your affiliate program like the business that it is. And before you know it, you could be among the affiliate super-stars.
