Really nice that you took the time to make such great videos. Thanks:)

  3. tjw1963 says:

I can help you with a reverse single crochet. I am not sure what you would be referring to with a reverse slip stitch.

  4. leelee21216 says:

what is a reverse slip stitch

  5. andydiem says:

hi, im an mommy to be in March and i’ve been learning to crochet a blanket. Ive seen many of ur tutorials that r great. i was wondering if you could do a video on making ruffles for a blanket that i could do.

  6. ButtFaceFactory says:

@tjw1963 in the book i’m reading it says do six single crochet in a magic ring then a slip stitch to close round. i think that is what comeXon is talking about. i too need help.
ps. thank you so much for the videos. grandma isn’t any help :P

  7. tjw1963 says:

It would depend on the purpose of your slip stitch. I don’t know if I fully understand your question.

  8. comeXonXeileen says:

Just a little question: When you do a slip stitch at the end of a chain, is it necessary to skip one stitch?

  9. kaitoucoon says:

i am just learning how to crochet, i had the same problem as you! My grandma had originally taught me how to crochet, but she never told me the correct names of the stitches :P

  10. tjw1963 says:

Practice will help you with the tension of your work. Loosen the grip of the yarn running through your opposite hand and you will be able to make looser stitches.

  11. animemangas says:

all of your videos are really helpful but how do u manage to make your chains so lose?mines seem to be tight and i don’t tighten them as much

  12. mscocoface says:

Hi T. I did get an answer to my question. when making a design with this stitch you have to do it in a round and that is where I was not understanding. Thanks for your response.

  13. tjw1963 says:

There is a difference between knitting and crochet. I can help you with skipping a stitch with crochet.

  14. maritate says:

Anyone knows what means skip a stich when you are knitting? Please if someone could explain me.
I found it in a knitting chart

    Thank you

  15. tjw1963 says:

You can go through 1 loop or 2. It is preference and will be the same either way.

  16. postitmonsterxx says:

hmm,how many chains will we insert the hook to?

  17. MrsCWcarrJR says:

my grandmother always called this a single crochet stitch, and the single crochet stitch was her double, but now i get why instructions in books never made sense to me before, i had the stitch names wrong! lol

  18. cherim801 says:

i printed the basic crochet instructions and it included to do a double crochet but it turned out it was a slip stitch!

  19. rootedinfaith3 says:

much appreciation- my mother forgot this one, and I was having trouble figuring it out!

  20. tjw1963 says:

Thank you, I appreciate the comment.

  21. jsowens7 says:

Thank you so much for these instructional videos. The book that I have is good, but it seems to skip a lot of important steps. Your videos are wonderful!

  22. tjw1963 says:

    No they are not.

  23. Cerealheretic says:

are single crochet and slip stitch the same thing?

  24. mscocoface says:

I am checking now the author and design for information. But how do you do this stitch continuously? LIke if you wanted to make a scarf or afghan how do you continue to the next line?

  25. tjw1963 says:

I’m sorry but I am not familiar with the stitch. What I will suggest is that you contact Annie’s Attic or or Nancy Nehring to see if they have more details somewhere about that pattern. A lot of the people who write patterns are accessible online. You can also search directly by putting the authors name in the search engine.
