Hi everyone! I love making soap and have been thinking of turning my hobby into a business. I haven’t gotten to that level yet, but I would love to know some places, sites, etc where I can advertise my “future” soap business for a low cost, or better yet, for free. Any advertising/marketing ideas or advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Hello there,
To be successful at marketing your soap, I highly recommend learning the basics of Sales and Marketing.
I am in the Network Marketing industry, and this is an industry that heavily relies on MARKETING.
Now, the kind of marketing you need to focus on is attraction marketing.
What’s that you ask? Well, you need to think about your target audience – who actually would NEED to buy your soap?
What are the benefits of your target audience using your soap? Does it contain special moisturizes, does it contain agents that suit people with very sensitive skin?
You will be very surprised of how many people out there actually looking for products such as yours, simply because they have a need that has to be met.
I strongly suggest creating your own website and market your soap yourself, this way you will have far better control of how you do things etc.
I have started building a website for my Network Marketing business about 3 months ago, and it’s coming along really nicely! The idea of creating your own website sounds very daunting, but the fact that you were able to post this question on the net shows me that you are far more than able to make your own site.
If you want to find out more how I made my own site, just fire an email my way or alternatively contact me through my website that I have referenced at the bottom.
The program I used to build my website showed me how to do it in a Step-By-Step process in video format, it couldn’t be easier than that!
So, below, I will provide the link to my Marketing Basics page, which doesn’t only just apply to Network Marketing, but to anything. You will find some very useful information throughout my site, so don’t be shy = )

Hello M,
Josh is right – first and foremost realise that anything you do ‘as a business’, no matter what you are providing, must first be a sales and marketing business. Which might sound a bit scary – yet if you think of it as letting people know you have what they are looking for – it may well sit better with you!
I took me a while to get my head around this, I wasn’t into sales and marketing, I wanted to concentrate on my business of being a music teacher. Yet here I am now, having started up a company with my partner which amongst other things teaches people how to market their businesses on the internet.
There’s something happening called “Social Media” – it’s a way you can use such tools as Twitter and Facebook in order to connect and “meet” people. You do need to understand the basic elements of marketing though to make it work, and then realise that the traditional methods of marketing in a social media capacity are different.
Have a look at our websites below – it will give you a little insight into how you can make social media work for your business – and save you some of the expensive costs that you might otherwise feel you have no choice but to take.
Hope this has helped and good luck in the future!
I think I would take a different approach on this. Instead of looking for customers to buy your soap, why not shoot a few videos on “How to make your own soap” Sell a video “How To Course” the beauty is you do the work once and let it do the selling for you. You could continue to make your soap as a hobby and have a nice auto pilot business working for you 24/7.
I think others would think it’s a cool idea around special events and holidays, and may want to learn this skill themselves. If you do want to sell your soap yourself then I would either find a Gift Basket company that would want different soaps bundled together for baskets (Maybe another business you could do.)
If your curious on how to get something like this going online, than I would recommend this site for free training. (See Source) Good Luck..Sound Fun!
