I Love your videos. You make it so easy to follow. I made a hat for my Grandaughter and never dreamed I would make something for someone to wear. You really cover a lot. Thanks.

I would love to start exchanging squares too…..Maybe we can start a group or something. :)

  12. cody1800212 says:

ive done that before but the project im on now im making them with a large pop up seam

  13. tjw1963 says:

I just whip stitch them together.

  14. cody1800212 says:

its ok to have them but your saying u want no seams to show….idk how to do it with granny squares but if your sewin with fabric theres a stich that dose not show but i cant remember the name.

  15. tjw1963 says:

I have found that hand stitching them together eliminates the seam.

  16. thefluffinater says:

I was wondering about that. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to sew my granny squares together WITHOUT the seam because I thought that’s what your supposed to do. So you’re saying it’s okay to have them? Does anyone know of a way to do it without having the seams show like a ridge. I’m make something I want to look like it’s one thing instead of a bunch of little things.

I do have a FaceBook page you are welcome to visit.

i like sew them with a chrochet hook and i doble crochet them to gether so the seam on the right side pops up.

Oh and also, I have been looking for people that i could exchange squares with, where would one go about finding people for crocheting correspondence?

  20. mblankenship45577 says:

I make a lot of granny square afghans and when i joint them instead of just using a slip stitch I like to use a single crochet. i really like the ridge pattern that it adds to the front of the blanket.

The right side is the side that is facing you when you were working, and you can easily distinguish them it by looking both sides: On the right side you will see that the chains and stitches have clear, sharp edges, and on the other side the chains and stitches will appear ‘blurry’ and will be hard to distinguish them… I hope my explanation helps a little… =$ =)

  22. ferre347 says:

    thank you for the reply,

  23. tjw1963 says:

The dark backdrop shows the stitches better than the neutral color. I was getting several comments a day from people telling me they could not see the stitches well with the beige color so that is why I switched.

  24. ferre347 says:

    hi,
why don’t you use a white background for your new videos as you did with the old ones,
the black background is uncomfortable, at least that is how i feel..
love all your videos, you are my inspiration
    thank you

Hello, I was just wondering..how do you tell which is the right side on a basic granny square? I am working of a big afghan made out of 3 and half inch squares and I want to join them but, I’m not sure which is the right side. Can you help? Thank you so much for these videos. I have learned so much. Stay well.
