@lexmembrana Stir 1 Tablespoon lemon juice or white vinegar into 1 cup of milk…let it sit 10 minutes, and the milk will curdle into buttermilk.

If you change the proportions just a little, and add some lard/butter, you have a very basic biscuit recipe. The very recipe I use at least once a week!

My friend and I made this bread on St. Patty’s, and we added rosemary and minced garlic to the dough. We agreed it was the best bread we’ve ever had! Thanks for the recipe. :)

I’m so THRILLED that traditional soda bread doesn’t have raisins and seeds. I hate breads and cookies with fruit and/or seeds in them (it’s a texture issue). I’m also glad you don’t have to cut a crapload of butter into it. XD

  15. limalicious says:

Milk with a little vinegar mixed in, and let it sit. That’s what I use for my four-ingredient recipe.

I added 2 table spoons of local honey and 1 table spoon of cinnamon to 1 recipe’s worth of dough and when they came out of the oven, I added 2 table spoons of melted butter, 2 table spoons of sugar and 1 tea spoon of cinnamon mixture over the top of them. They are totally awesome! =0)
