There are various ways to market your affiliate program or programs. One of the easiest and free is hop-in or email groups. Some are small as a few hundred, while others are as large as 10-20 thousand! Yahoo groups are a good way, though you’ll have to deal with vast amount of email ads from members trying to get attention for their own products or services. Some of the other ways of marketing is by email. Buy a good email list targeting potential customers who usually purchase the type of products you are trying to market yourself. Stay away from cheap lists with unusually large amount of names, as many are useless and they dont target HOT buyers, just inquirers.

Another good avenue is through the affiliate owners themselves. The top owners usually have various tried and true methods to tapped into the right audience for their product. Its in their best interest to do so.
Though there are hundreds of thousands of affiliate programs out there, most are useless. Watch which you sign up for.

Create a video and upload it to YouTube with your URL flashed on the screen. All of these are free.
There are a zillion ways to advertise for affiliate marketing, for me there are three sure ways that I find very effective.
1.) Organic Search Engine Traffic. This is the hardest but most rewarding form of advertisement. The reason I like this method is because its long term. You work hard initially and when you succeed you can relax as your past efforts works for you over and over again.
2.) Social Networking and Bookmarking. With these method, you main aim is to create a community of friends or visitors by participating in such sites, forums, blogs, yahoo answers and any place that people with certain interests congregate.
3.) Advertisement channels. Most expensive but ready traffic that you can attract based on your pocket size. You can use paid per click such as Adword and all the other channels that exist. With these method you have to track, measure and improve your conversion rates otherwise you can easily burn your money.
The amount of money you can earn depends on the commission you get paid per sale and also how hard working you are.
